Inventing the ultra-thin adhesive solutions of tomorrow

At Maan Special Products, Research & Development is the foundation of everything we make. Our R&D team works on two fronts: advancing the adhesive technologies we already master, and developing the ones our customers will need next. Because we develop our ultra-thin adhesive films and precision laminates from scratch, we control every property that matters, from thickness and peel strength to purity, outgassing and temperature stability.

In-house adhesive development

Most adhesive suppliers work with standard materials from a catalogue. We take a different approach. Our chemists formulate and produce adhesive films in-house, which allows us to tune each solution to the exact function it must deliver. That gives us full control over properties such as:

• Controlled adhesion and peel strength, including removable and non-permanent adhesion
• Custom shapes 2D and 3D for every layer
• Solvent-free and chemically inert formulations
• Low outgassing for vacuum and cleanroom environments
• Temperature stability under demanding process conditions
• Precisely controlled film thickness, down to the micron

This combination of in-house chemistry, precision conversion and cleanroom production up to ISO class 5 allows us to develop custom adhesive solutions that a standard laminate supplier simply cannot offer.

Co-creation with our customers

Most of our development starts with a customer challenge, not a product. Think of a seal that must withstand years of continuous ultra-pure water exposure, a bond that must remain invisible both electrically and optically, or a surface that needs to switch from water-repellent to water-attracting.

Our chemists and engineers work directly with your team to understand the function a solution must deliver and the conditions it must survive. We then translate that challenge into a laminate design, build and test prototypes against real-world requirements, and scale the solution into repeatable series production together with you.
